Introduction: The sagittal plane and the cervical spine play a fundamental role in spinal global alignment and the harmonization of posture. The objective of this work is to perform a high-velocity osteopathic manipulation at C2 and observe by means of a stabilizometric analysis, the changes that occur in anterior and posterior oscillations that affect the sagittal plane.Methodology: A serial study of transverse cases was conducted in 20 patients. The main efficiency analysis was based on the change in antero-posterior oscillation after two minutes of the technique’s performance with respect to the basal test. The continuous variables were described by the average, the Standard deviation, the median, the mínimum and the maximum, including the total number of valid values. Test of normality were applied to the main variables. To compare the quantitative dependent variables in the monitoring of different times and the independent ones, the matched parametric test t-Student was used.
Results: Statistically significant changes (p=0.353) were shown between the basal measurement and the two minutes after the C2 manipulation.
Conclusions: The high-velocity technique at C2 modify antero-posterior oscillation in the sagittal plane significantly. - Abstract

Introducció: El pla sagital i la columna cervical juguen un paper fonamental en l’alineació global espinal i l’harmonització de la postura. L’objectiu d’aquest treball consisteix en efectuar una manipulació osteopàtica d’alta velocitat a C2 i observar, mitjançant un anàlisi estabilomètric, els canvis produïts en les oscil·lacions antero-posteriors que afecten al pla sagital.
Metodologia: Es realitzà un estudi de sèrie de casos transversal a 20 pacients. L’anàlisi principal d’eficiència es basà en el canvi d’oscil·lació antero-posterior als dos minuts de la realització de la tècnica respecte a la prova basal. Les variables contínues es descriviren per la mitjana, la desviació estàndard, la mediana, el mínim i el màxim, inclòs el nombre total de valors vàlids. S’aplicaren proves de normalitat en les principals variables. Per comparar les variables dependents quantitatives en el seguiment de diferents temps i les independents s’utilitzà la prova paramètrica aparellada de t-Student.
Resultats: Es mostraren canvis estadísticament significatius (p=0.353) entre la mesura basal i els dos minuts posteriors a la manipulació de C2.
Conclusions: La tècnica d’alta velocitat a nivell de C2 modifica l’oscil·lació antero-posterior en el pla sagital de forma significativa. - presented at
