Objective
To demonstrate through an osteopathic technique, in patients with an anterior torsion of the sacrum, that we will be able to:
1. Reduce lumbosacral pain
2. Balance weight distribution in lower extremities
3. Close patient's gravity center (GC) to the correct GC through wii balance board.
Method
Experimental study, prospective and longitudinal. Randomized intervention, single-blind blinded where the evaluator and the controller haven't had contact during the stabilometric and pain evaluations (performed by the evaluator) and patient's exploration and treatment (performed by the controller).
28 people randomly selected by the exclusion and inclusion factors 8 of there were excluded.
At the study group has been corrected the sacrum with MET, while at the control group has received ultrasounds without emission (placebo).
Perceived pain using a virtual analogue scale (VAS), changes in weight loads percentage of the lower extremities, and gravity center changes were assessed in both groups before-after the treatment with wii balance board.
Results
Pain has been reduced in study group in every patient, where the median is 3,5 points (VAS). In control group, 60% have been improved and the median is 0,6 (VAS).
In terms of the improving of the percentage of load distribution in lower extremities in study group, the median is 4,6%,and -2,9% in control group.
Finally, in 90% of study group people, the GC has been improved respect to the remaining 10% of control group.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that the osteopathic treatment with MET, in anterior torsion of the sacrum, improve the pain, weight load distribution in lower extremities and gravity center. - presented at
