- INTRODUCTION: The chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a complex chronic disorder of unknown etiology and characterized for the presence of an intense and disabling fatigue, both psychical and mental, with a clinic course that interferes with daily activities, doesn't improve with rest, worsens with effort and associated with systemic, physic and neuropsychological symptoms.The aim of the present study is proposing a therapeutical approach from an osteopathic point of view for CFS treatment based on physiopathology and reviewed osteopathic research.MATERIAL AND METHOD: A wide bibliographic research in different biomedical and also specialized in osteopathy databases was undertaken.RESULTS: We have found four experimental trials that evaluate the effectiveness of the osteopathic treatment in CFS, a thesis and an article in which clinic case is presented and, finally, a chapter from a book which proposes an approach referring to that syndrome treatment.CONCLUSIONS: The osteopathic treatment for CFS must be focused on balancing the cranial rhythmic impulse (CRI), regulating the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) and improving the lymphatic drainage.

- INTRODUCCIÓN: el Síndrome de Fatiga Crónica (SFC) es un complejo desorden crónico de etiología desconocida y caracterizado por la presencia de una fatiga intensa y debilitante, tanto física como mental, con un curso clínico que interfiere con las actividades de la vida diaria, no mejora con el reposo, empeora con el esfuerzo físico y está asociado a manifestaciones sistémicas, físicas y neuropsicológicas.El objetivo del presente este estudio es proponer un enfoque terapéutico desde el punto de vista osteopático para el tratamiento del SFC en base a la fisiopatología y las investigaciones osteopáticas revisadas.METODOLOGÍA: se ha llevado a cabo una amplia revisión bibliográfica en diferentes bases de datos tanto biomédicas como específicas en osteopatía.RESULTADOS: se han encontrado cuatro estudios experimentales que evalúan la efectividad del tratamiento osteopático en el SFC, una tesina y un artículo en los que se presenta un caso clínico y, por último un capítulo de un libro que propone un enfoque en cuanto al tratamiento del mismo síndrome.CONCLUSIONES: el tratamiento osteopático del SFC debe ir dirigido a equilibrar el Mecanismo Respiratorio Primario (MRP), regular el Sistema Nervioso Simpático (SNS) y mejorar el drenaje linfático.
